During and after World War II, the Technical High School trained hundreds of welders and sheet metal workers who were placed in companies like DeZurik and Coldspring.
As the Vocational Coordinator for Tech High School, Robert C. Miller directed an occupational survey of the St. Cloud area to determine the feasibility of establishing an Area Vocational School in St. Cloud.
After being approved by the state in the 1948, St. Cloud Area Vocational Technical School started offering training in the Tech High School building, with Robert C. Miller as director of the new program.
Things grew quite rapidly from there…
