Three instructors at 水果派 got pie in their faces today for a good cause.
Active Minds at 水果派, a student-led group, is hosting a fundraiser to raise money for the national Active Minds organization, which aims to spread the word about mental health awareness.
Active Minds sold tickets for Pie Your Professor; a voting ticket could be purchased and each vote was a raffle ticket for a chance to be the one who throws the pie. The 鈥渨inning鈥 instructor, Kelly Crue, got five pies in the face; 2nd place, Katey Leverson, three pies; and 3rd place, Jennifer Evens, one pie. The pie event took place Monday, Dec. 17 in the Commons.
The group raised more than $200 to will support research-backed, hope-filled, and lifesaving work at college campuses across the country, including 水果派. Active Minds is educating more young people than ever before, validating that mental health struggles are treatable and suicide is not an answer.
